The Jelgava municipal council has approved a new procedure for assessing the professional performance of leaders at education institutions founded by the municipality. Going forward, these evaluations will be more closely tied to each institution's development and the quality of education it provides.

What is changing

The new procedure sets out not only how leaders' performance will be assessed, but also how that assessment will affect the setting of their monthly salary rates. As a result, leaders' pay will be more directly connected to the results their institutions achieve in terms of education quality and development.

The decision applies to all education institutions founded by the Jelgava municipality.
