Over 3,000 motorcyclists to gather in Jelgava for season-closing ride
On September 26, more than 3,000 motorcyclists will gather in Jelgava for a season-closing parade ride, held alongside the "Rocktagons 26" festival and the "Forest Comes to Jelgava 2026" event. Several streets and parking areas in the city will be closed for the occasion.
Next week, on September 26, Jelgava will host a season-closing motorcycle parade bringing together more than 3,000 riders from across Latvia, the city municipality has announced.
Motorcyclists will begin gathering near Jelgava Castle from 10 a.m., before setting off on a parade ride through the city at 1 p.m. The route will run from the castle car park through the castle courtyard, along Lielā Street, Uzvaras Street, Lapskalna Street, Atmodas Street and Dobele highway, before returning along Lielā Street to Pilssalas Street.
Traffic restrictions
Starting Friday, September 25 at 8 p.m., parking areas near Jelgava Castle and Pasta Island will be closed, including the lot at Pilssalas Street 1 and near the water tourism and sports base. On Saturday, Pilssalas Street and Pasta Island will be fully closed to traffic, with access limited to motorcycles and to residents and workers in the area. During the parade itself, from 1 to 2 p.m., traffic will be temporarily halted along the entire route.

Before the parade, visitors to the Jelgava Castle courtyard will be able to view a motorcycle exhibition organized by the "Jawa" motorcycle club. Meanwhile, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the castle park will host the "Forest Comes to Jelgava 2026" event, where residents can meet forestry professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists and craftspeople, and take part in various hands-on activities.
After the motorcycle parade, the new "Rocktagons 26" festival will begin on Pasta Island. From 2 p.m., a young musicians' competition will take place across two age groups, judged by a panel. Attendees can also watch MAG welding competitions, a chili-eating championship, and visit creative workshops. In the evening, bands "Huskvarn", "Laime pilnīga" and singer Miks Galvanovskis will perform.
