Two Route 13 bus trips in Jelgava to change from 1 November
Jelgava's bus operator will restructure two Route 13 trips from 1 November so that pupils from the Branka area can reach Ozolnieki Secondary School on time. The changes also respond to a residents' suggestion to make it easier to reach the new Jelgava market in the morning.

Starting 1 November, two trips on bus route 13 in Jelgava and the surrounding area will be changed. The public transport operator SIA "Jelgavas autobusu parks" (JAP) announced the changes, which affect connections between Jelgava railway station, Branka and Ozolnieki Secondary School.
New morning trip from the station
The trip "Jelgava station – Brankstūri – Brankas GP", which departed from the station at 7:40, will be cancelled. It will be replaced by a new trip, "Jelgava station – Loka highway – Brankstūri – Brankas GP", departing at 7:32.
The new trip will be routed along the Loka highway. According to JAP, this will shorten the journey time, so the bus will reach Branka earlier. Pupils will then be able to take the next connecting trip and arrive at Ozolnieki Secondary School before the first lesson begins.
Changes to the trip starting in Branka
The trip "Brankas GP – Centrs", which left the "Iecavas iela" stop at 8:25, will also be cancelled from November. A new trip, "Brankas GP – Ozolnieku vidusskola – Jelgava station", will replace it. It will depart from "Iecavas iela" at 8:01, reach the "Ozolnieku vidusskola" stop at 8:15 and finish at Jelgava station at 8:43.
Reasons for the changes
JAP says the amendments are intended to give pupils from the Branka area a way to reach Ozolnieki Secondary School. In addition, following a suggestion from residents, the changes should make it easier to get to the new Jelgava market in the morning.
The company also stresses that the new timetables at bus stops will be replaced on 31 October.
