Jelgava will become the venue for the 63rd International Conference “Making Cities Livable” from July 7 to 10. This event gathers architects, urban planners, municipal representatives, researchers, and other professionals involved in urban development. This year’s theme is “Regenerative Architecture and Urbanism: Recovery and Resilience after a Time of Upheaval”.
Participants from Europe, North America, Asia, and other regions will focus on practical solutions for creating sustainable and people-friendly urban environments. Discussions will cover local economic strengthening, public space development, cultural heritage preservation, and addressing environmental issues. The conference is designed not only for academics but also for local government specialists, entrepreneurs, and professionals in architecture, spatial planning, mobility, environment, and community development.
A special creative workshop will feature international experts working alongside Jelgava specialists to analyze the city’s development and regeneration potential. Proposals developed during the workshop will be presented at the closing session, offering recommendations for Jelgava’s future development.
