Jelgava to Increase Fees for Paid Services at Educational Institutions
The Jelgava City Council has approved updated price lists for municipal educational institutions, effective July 1, 2026. Most service fees will rise by no more than 10%.

The Jelgava City Council has approved revised fee schedules for paid services provided by the Jelgava Education Board and municipal educational institutions. The new prices will take effect on July 1, 2026. The changes reflect adjustments in the costs of service delivery and infrastructure maintenance.
For most services, the increase will be up to 10 percent. For instance, consultations with psychologists, speech therapists, and special education teachers will rise from €17.64 to €18.87 per hour. The fee for pedagogical, psychological, or speech therapy assessments and report preparation will increase from €28.26 to €30.80. However, children registered in Jelgava will continue to receive free consultations from support specialists.
Rental fees for premises have also been reviewed. Classroom rental will increase by an average of 6–7 percent, while sports hall rental in educational institutions will range from €19.35 to €39.96 per hour, depending on the size of the space. Assembly hall rental in most institutions will rise by roughly 6–7 percent, but at Jelgava State Gymnasium, hall rental without sound equipment will be €52.08 per hour, and with sound equipment – €67.56 per hour.
More significant changes will apply to certain sports infrastructure. Football field rental at Jelgava 4th Primary School will increase from €30.30 to €41.57 per hour, at Jelgava Technology Secondary School – from €20.92 to €27.68 per hour (the field is currently unavailable), and at Jelgava Centre Primary School – from €17.95 to €23.68 per hour.
Swimming pool services will see minor adjustments. Visiting the pool at Jelgava Pārlielupe Primary School will cost €4.48 per hour (previously €4.33), while lessons at preschool institutions “Rotaļa” and “Kāpēcīši” will increase by an average of 2 percent. Discounts for children registered in Jelgava, pensioners, and people with disabilities will remain.
The updated price lists also include new services. At Jelgava Vocational Secondary School, kitchen rental will be available for preparing cold dishes at €15.68 per hour and hot dishes at €20.33 per hour.
Discounts will continue to apply to municipal institutions, children's and youth sports organizations, non-governmental organizations, EU fund project implementers, and other designated groups of residents.
