The Rimi Hyper RAF store at Rīgas iela 48 in Jelgava has reopened to customers following a renovation costing nearly €900,000. Construction began in May and lasted four months, with the store remaining open for regular business throughout the works.

The Jelgava location is the fourth Rimi store in Latvia to be rebuilt according to the brand's new hypermarket concept. The concept has previously been rolled out since late 2025 at stores in Riga on A. Deglava iela, in Jēkabpils, and in Kuldīga.

Larger space and upgraded equipment

Following the reconstruction, the Rimi Hyper RAF sales area now covers 2,000 square meters. The checkout zone offers four traditional checkouts and six self-service checkouts, two of which accept cash payments. The store has also introduced a scan-with-phone shopping option.

The renovated store provides jobs for 74 employees. LED lighting and energy-efficient cooling systems have been installed throughout, along with light sensors in staff areas. The new interior also features modern screens displaying current offers and promotions.
