Uzbek national detained in Jelgava over alleged sexual act against a minor
Police in Jelgava detained an Uzbek citizen suspected of committing indecent acts against a minor at a children's playground. A criminal case has been opened and the man has been remanded in custody.

On September 4, Latvia's State Police received a report of a man allegedly committing indecent acts against a minor at a children's playground area in Jelgava.
Officers from the Response Unit of the Southern Zemgale precinct, part of the State Police's Zemgale Regional Department, responded immediately and detained the suspect at the scene.
The detained man is a citizen of Uzbekistan. Police have opened a criminal case under Section 160, Part Four of the Criminal Law, which covers sexual acts committed against a minor.
The suspect has been remanded in custody as a security measure while the investigation continues.
