Jelgava to hold its first-ever Night Bike Ride
On September 18, Jelgava will host its first Night Bike Ride, running from Uzvaras Park to Pasta Island, free of charge for all participants. The event is organized by the Junda creative center and Jelgava's regional Tourism Center.
The Jelgava municipality has announced that the city will hold its first-ever Night Bike Ride on September 18. Registration for participants opens at 6:30 p.m. in Uzvaras Park, with the ride itself starting at 7 p.m.
The route stretches roughly seven kilometers through the city's streets and finishes on Pasta Island, where creative activities await participants. The overall event will run until 11 p.m., and taking part is free of charge.
Getting ready for the ride
Before setting off, participants can join a group warm-up session led by physiotherapist Antra. Organizers are urging cyclists to check their bike's technical condition beforehand and make sure it has proper lighting. They also recommend decorating bikes and clothing with LED lights, lamps, reflectors, or other glowing elements to improve visibility and safety after dark.
Police patrols will be stationed along the route to ensure traffic safety. The Night Bike Ride is organized by the Junda creative center together with Jelgava's regional Tourism Center.
