Jelgava launches new bus route No. 30
Starting September 1, Jelgava is trialing a new bus route No. 30 for three months, connecting Lapskalna Street with the railway station.
As of September 1, the city of Jelgava has launched a new public transport route, No. 30, running between Lapskalna Street and the Jelgava railway station. The municipality is introducing it on a three-month experimental basis, after which it will decide whether to keep the route permanently.
The first bus departed at 7:05 a.m. from the stop “Lapskalna iela No. 47.” As previously reported, the route links Lapskalna Street to the Jelgava railway station via the recently built section of Atmodas Street and then Rūpniecības Street.
Daily schedule and resources
The route will run 22 trips per day — 11 in each direction. To operate it, the company SIA “Jelgavas autobusu parks” will assign one additional bus and several extra drivers for the duration of the trial.
The municipality is encouraging Jelgava residents to actively use the new route, since passenger demand during the trial period will be the key factor in deciding whether the route becomes permanent.
