Temporary High-Voltage Line Support Falls on Road Between Dorupe and Glūda in Jelgava Municipality

An incident occurred in Jelgava municipality when a temporary support of a 330-kilovolt (kV) high-voltage power transmission line collapsed onto the P96 road between Dorupe and Glūda. The accident happened as a contractor was replacing the old support with a new one.
According to AS "Augstsprieguma tīkls" (AST), no one was injured. However, the incident damaged infrastructure belonging to AS "Sadales tīkls" and disrupted electricity supply to four households.
"Sadales tīkls" promptly dispatched an emergency crew to repair the damage and restore power. The contractor's personnel are also on site, working to mitigate the consequences.
Traffic on the P96 road between Dorupe and Glūda is completely blocked. VSIA "Latvijas valsts ceļi" (LVC) urges drivers to take alternative routes. The State Police are managing traffic at the scene.
