Māris Lindenbaums to Lead Jelgava Sports Service Center

The Jelgava City Council has appointed Māris Lindenbaums as the director of the municipal institution “Sports Service Center”, who previously headed the Jelgava Specialized Swimming School.

At its meeting on June 25, the Jelgava City Council approved Māris Lindenbaums as the head of the municipal institution “Sports Service Center”. He will assume the position on July 1.

Thirteen candidates applied for the position in the competition. Five were selected for the second round, and Lindenbaums was deemed the most suitable.

Lindenbaums has been the director of the Jelgava Specialized Swimming School since 2022, and prior to that served as its deputy director. With his appointment to the Sports Service Center, the swimming school will now need to find a new director.
