JMGO launches bright Iris Ultra Max projector aimed at gamers and sports fans
JMGO has released its 4K 120Hz all-in-one Iris Ultra Max projector outside China, offering very high brightness and gaming-friendly features. The device uses a new dual-iris system to boost contrast.
Chinese manufacturer JMGO has launched its new Iris Ultra Max projector outside China — a 4K, 120Hz all-in-one device running Google TV. The projector is notable for a new dual-iris system that JMGO says delivers a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1, a metric that has traditionally been a weak point for projectors.
Rather than relying on a single iris, JMGO places two separate physical apertures at different points along the internal optical path, allowing tighter control over light scatter and brightness. Its triple-laser light engine is capable of producing images as bright as 6,500 ISO lumens.
Just a year ago, 6,000 lumens from an all-in-one projector was considered groundbreaking at the IFA tech show. This year, that level of brightness is becoming standard, alongside smooth 4K imagery at 120Hz suited for fast-moving sports and games. However, JMGO's previous flagship, the N3 Ultimate, showed color distortion at peak brightness, so it may be worth waiting for independent reviews of the new model.
Like its predecessor, the Iris Ultra Max sits on a motorized pan-and-tilt gimbal, allowing convenient repositioning of the projected image. It also features an optical zoom range of 0.88 to 1.7x and generous lens shift — up to 130% vertically and 53% horizontally — giving users significant flexibility in image placement without sacrificing optical quality.
For gamers, the projector includes variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low-latency mode (ALLM) to reduce lag and screen tearing, along with support for Dolby Vision HDR at 4K and 120Hz.
The projector will officially retail for $3,499, but preorders starting today are priced at $2,999. Shipping is set to begin October 19th.
