New World Record Set in 3000m Steeplechase in Jõhvi
Indrek Tobreluts, a 50-year-old former biathlete, set a new world record in the M50 age group for the 3000m steeplechase at the Estonian Athletics Championships in Jõhvi on Saturday, clocking 9:28.24.

During the Estonian Athletics Championships held on Saturday at the Heino Lipp Stadium in Jõhvi, local athlete Indrek Tobreluts set a new world record in the 3000m steeplechase for the M50 age group. He completed the distance in 9 minutes and 28.24 seconds, breaking the previous record held by Norwegian Nils Undersaker for 37 years by more than ten seconds. Tobreluts, who turned 50 in April, represented the Estonian national biathlon team for many years and now works as a coach. In the race, he finished second, just one second behind winner Rainer Kravets. The news was reported by the newspaper "Severnoje Poberezhje".
