Jonass finishes 10th, Reišulis brothers 10th and 13th in Italian MXGP round
Latvian motocross racers at the Italian round of the world championship: Pauls Jonass took 10th place in MXGP, while in MX2 Janis Martins Reisulis finished 10th and Karlis Alberts Reisulis 13th.

On June 21, 2026, the ninth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship took place in Italy, with Latvian riders achieving the following results.
MXGP class
Pauls Jonass placed tenth overall after two races. In the second race, he started tenth, moved up to ninth on lap three, and reached eighth place on lap 15, where he finished. Winner Tim Gajser of Slovenia beat Jonass by 29.119 seconds. Second was Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings (+6.941), third was Belgian Lucas Coenen (+13.334). In the first race, Jonass finished tenth; Herlings won ahead of Frenchman Maxime Renaux and Coenen.
In the Italian GP overall standings, Herlings scored 47 points, Coenen 40, Renaux 37, and Jonass 24 points for tenth place. After nine rounds, Coenen leads the championship with 449 points, Herlings has 393, and Frenchman Romain Febvre 347. Jonass is tenth with 200 points.
MX2 class
In MX2, Janis Martins Reisulis placed tenth and Karlis Alberts Reisulis 13th. In the second race, J. Reisulis was sixth after ten laps but dropped to ninth by the finish. K. Reisulis started tenth, reached eighth on lap nine, but finished tenth. South African Camden McLealan won ahead of Belgians Sacha Coenen and Liam Everts.
In the first race, J. Reisulis finished eighth and K. Reisulis 14th. The Italian Grand Prix was won by Coenen (44 points), ahead of Spaniard Guillem Farres (41) and McLealan (39). J. Reisulis scored 25 points (10th), K. Reisulis 18 points (13th). After nine rounds, championship leader Coenen has 431 points, Farres 390, McLealan 373. J. Reisulis and K. Reisulis have 310 and 244 points respectively, sitting seventh and eighth.
The season consists of 20 rounds.
