Jonass qualifies fifth at season-closing MXGP round in Australia
Latvian motocross racer Pauls Jonass finished fifth in MXGP class qualifying at the final round of the world championship in Australia, while brothers Jānis and Kārlis Reišulis placed second and eighth in the MX2 class.

The 19th and final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship is taking place in Australia this weekend, with Latvian riders featuring in qualifying results across two classes on Saturday.
In the MXGP class, the championship's premier category, Latvia's Pauls Jonass secured fifth place in qualifying.
Reišulis brothers in MX2
Latvia was also represented in the MX2 class by brothers Jānis and Kārlis Reišulis. Jānis Reišulis took second place in qualifying, while Kārlis Reišulis finished eighth.
The Australian Grand Prix marks the closing round of this season's world motocross championship, making the riders' performances here significant for the final overall standings.
