Jonass finishes fifth in season's final motocross round

Latvian rider Pauls Jonass took fifth place in the MXGP class at the final round of the motocross world championship in Australia, while brothers Jānis and Kārlis Reišulis finished third and ninth in MX2.

The 2026 motocross world championship season concluded on Sunday with its 19th round, the Australian Grand Prix, featuring strong results from Latvian riders.

In the MXGP class, the championship's premier category, Latvia's Pauls Jonass finished fifth in the season-closing round.

In the MX2 class, brothers Jānis and Kārlis Reišulis both competed. Jānis Reišulis finished the round in third place, while Kārlis Reišulis placed ninth.

With this round in Australia, the 2026 motocross world championship season has come to an end.
