At the South African MXGP round in Johannesburg, Latvian riders delivered strong performances in Saturday's qualifying races.

In the MXGP class, Pauls Jonass settled into the top three from the start and finished third. The win went to Red Bull KTM's Lucas Coenen, while reigning champion Romain Febvre took second. Jonass maintained his pace and controlled his position, preventing rivals from challenging for the podium.

In MX2, Simon Langenfelder (Red Bull KTM) won, followed by Guillem Farres and Camden McLeish (both Triumph). Latvian brothers Jānis Mārtiņš Reišulis and Kārlis Alberts Reišulis had a solid run: Jānis held second place for much of the race and finished fourth, while Kārlis consistently stayed in the top six and took fifth. Both proved to be in excellent form.
