A new contender has entered the portable shower market: the Joolca Hottap Go, promising a complete hot shower solution anywhere. The device stands out with a 12-liter integrated water tank, eliminating the need for an external container, and a recirculation system that heats water to the desired temperature before use.

The Hottap Go runs on propane gas and requires a 12V power source. The hoses, showerhead, and gas canister can all be stored inside the water tank when not in use. The showerhead features a magnetic holder and an on/off switch to conserve water. According to the manufacturer, one tank is enough for two short showers or one long one.

In testing, heating water to 47°C took four minutes. Water pressure is adequate for washing hair but not for rinsing grime off a mountain bike. In windy conditions, the flame tended to blow out, displaying an E3 error, but repositioning the unit out of the wind solved the issue.

The base Hottap Go costs $554, with an optional $165 magnetic power bank. While expensive, the recirculation system and integrated tank make it more convenient and efficient than cheaper competitors.
