The June awards for the “Tonybet” Latvian football Virslīga have been announced. Riga FC striker Muhammed Badamosi was recognized as the best player, and the club's head coach Adrians Guļa received the top coach honor.
In June, Riga played five matches, winning four of them—against “Ogre United”, “Auda”, “Liepāja”, and in a derby against RFS—while drawing away at “Daugavpils”.
Badamosi, a 27-year-old Gambian forward, appeared in all five games and scored four goals: two against “Auda”, and one each against “Liepāja” and “Ogre”. This is his first season in the Latvian top flight; previously he played in Gambia, Senegal, Morocco, Belgium, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, and Romania. With 15 goals, he is currently the second top scorer in the league.
Other nominees for the player award were Džozefs Ede Oloko (“Liepāja”), Frenks Dāvids Orols (“Riga”), Dmitrijs Zelenkovs (RFS), and Gļebs Žaleiko (“Jelgava”). The winner was determined by a vote of Latvian sports media representatives and fans on social networks.
Guļa became Riga's head coach in early 2025. The June award marks his third monthly coaching title in the Virslīga; he previously received the honor twice last season. The monthly coach is chosen by the Latvian Football Federation's Coaches Council in cooperation with the Latvian Football Virslīga association.
