Point guard Juris Vītols has joined Ogre basketball club after spending three seasons with Rīgas Zeļļi, signing a two-year deal.

Ogre general manager Rinalds Sirsniņš noted that Vītols is a well-known player who has proven his quality in Latvian basketball for several years. Until January, the player will serve in the National Defence Service but will attend team practices and combine them with games and club duties. Sirsniņš expressed confidence that Vītols will be a significant addition to the backcourt.

Vītols himself highlighted the coaching staff's professionalism and his previous collaboration with head coach Artūrs Visockis-Rubenis as key factors in his decision. He also appreciated the club's well-thought-out practice schedule, which will allow him to balance basketball with mandatory service.

In the previous Latvian-Estonian Basketball League season, Vītols averaged 5.1 points and 2.7 assists per game.
