Kauguri Festival brings colorful close to summer in Jūrmala

On Saturday, August 29, the Kauguri district of Jūrmala held its annual Kauguri Festival, drawing visitors for a day filled with movement, art, and entertainment. The event is regarded as a fitting close to the summer season in this part of the city.
A full day of activities
Throughout the day, attendees were entertained by hundreds of dancers, along with striking giant puppets, acrobats, and circus performers. The program included street games, creative workshops, and various competitions. Alongside the cultural offerings, visitors could take in a 3x3 basketball tournament and the "Loud Jurmala" car show. A festival market offered goods made by Latvian craftspeople and small producers, including seasonal and eco-friendly products.
Evening concerts and a light show
The evening program on the main festival stage opened with musician Maksims Busels and his band. Also performing were the Lithuanian band "Daddy was a Milkman," as well as local acts "Mazais princis" and Fiņķis. The festival closed with a multimedia light show featuring the musical group "Dagamba," combining music, lighting, video, and special effects into a striking visual finale for attendees.
