A storm that hit Jūrmala on August 23, 2026, left visible damage across the city, with the most significant destruction concentrated along the sea coast. The wind mainly broke and toppled deciduous trees.
The city's main roads have already been cleared of fallen trees and are passable. However, the situation on some side streets has not yet been fully resolved — on Olgas iela, for instance, part of the street remains blocked to traffic due to a fallen tree.
In several locations across Jūrmala, trees were also seen to have fallen onto power lines, which could pose additional risks and cause disruptions to electricity supply in the affected areas.
Video footage documenting the storm damage in the city has also been made available.
