A dispute has broken out at the Jūrmala city council over reports that Mayor Jānis Lediņš and his office head, Gatis Trukšnis, played golf during working hours. Opposition members sought to have the matter placed on the agenda of the council's regular meeting.

However, deputies did not support the proposal to discuss the topic immediately. By majority vote, the council decided to postpone consideration of the officials' conduct to the next session rather than addressing it at this meeting.

The development was reported by TV3 Ziņas, which also prepared a video segment on the situation at the council. Further details on how the allegations regarding golf played during work hours emerged, as well as how the matter will proceed, are expected once it is taken up at the next council meeting.
