During the summer season, many people travel abroad using their own cars. Along the way, travelers frequently leave valuable items inside the vehicle — suitcases, electronics, documents and cash.
A car is not a safe storage place
While many travelers assume the car's interior or trunk is secure enough to leave personal belongings, this is not always the case. Criminals often target vehicles with foreign license plates, assuming tourists' cars may contain valuable items even if nothing is visible from outside.
This creates a risk that a pleasant vacation could be disrupted by an unexpected incident — a broken car window and stolen belongings. Travelers are therefore advised to pay close attention to where and how they park their car, and to avoid leaving valuable items in plain sight.
