Light festival "Valgus kõnnib" to bring traffic changes to Tallinn's Kadriorg Park
From September 16 to 19, Kadriorg Park in Tallinn will host a light festival, with evening traffic restrictions in place on several nearby streets. The event will feature 17 light installations and three light shows.
Tallinn's Kadriorg Park will host the light festival "Valgus kõnnib" (Light Walks) from September 16 to 19. Events will run each evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., and traffic arrangements in several streets around the park will be temporarily changed during those hours.
Traffic changes
On all four festival days, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., road sections will be closed between A. Weizenbergi 22 and Mäekalda 2, between Koidula 3 and Koidula 23, and between J. Poska 10 and A. Weizenbergi 22. Rohelise aasa Street will also be closed to traffic. On the section of Vesivärava Street between Poska and Felmanni streets, one-way traffic will be introduced in the direction of Felmanni Street. Organizers recommend that visitors reach the festival on foot or by public transport.
Festival programme
This year's festival theme is "Glimmer of Shadows." Kadriorg will feature 17 light installations and three light shows. The concert venue will host the show "Monument," the area near Mere Avenue will feature "Sun Goddess," and the façade of the Kadriorg Art Museum will show "In the Light of Darkness."
Swan Pond, which in previous years was one of the festival's popular venues, will not be part of the programme this year, as the area around the pond is set to undergo reconstruction.
