Seagull attacks become daily issue in Liepāja; Nature Protection Board calls for prevention
In Liepāja and other coastal towns of Latvia, silver gulls are increasingly aggressive, snatching food from people and damaging property. The Nature Protection Board stresses that dealing with consequences is not enough and preventive measures are needed.

The presence of silver gulls is becoming more noticeable in Liepāja and other coastal towns in Latvia. The birds have grown so bold that they often take food from residents and café visitors. They also cause damage to business properties. While locals and shop owners look for solutions, the Nature Protection Board (DAP) states that simply dealing with the effects is insufficient. DAP emphasizes that the main focus should be on preventive measures to reduce gull attacks in the long term.
