Riga FC secured a 1:1 draw away to Hungarian club ETO FC in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round, a result that proved sufficient to advance given the outcome of the first leg between the two sides.
A late equalizer decides the tie
ETO FC held the lead for much of the match, but Riga FC found a way back into the game in the closing stages. In the 89th minute, midfielder Kaju Ferreira scored to level the match at 1:1, preserving the advantage the Latvian club had built up in the first leg.
That late goal proved decisive, allowing Riga FC to win the tie 2:1 on aggregate and progress to the next round of the competition.
The result underlines the Latvian club's continued competitiveness on the European stage, keeping alive their hopes of advancing further in UEFA's second-tier club competition.
