Bear breaks into California library and eats staff snacks

A black bear got into a library in the US state of California early in the morning, on the very day the world marked 100 years since the children's story Winnie-the-Pooh was first published. The library's director, Joseph Bop, described the incident to the television channel KMPH. The case drew attention because the animal, like the book's hero, showed the greatest interest in honey.
According to the director, the bear arrived more than four hours before the institution officially opened. Once inside, it headed straight for the staff's snack supplies. The animal devoured peanut butter, peach dessert cups and cookies, as well as an entire jar of honey.
A tour of the premises
After its meal, the bear looked over the shelves of new books and peered at the information desk. It then left the building calmly on its own.
The library suffered no damage: no books were knocked over or ruined. Staff joked on social media that the honey jar had not been returned so far.
The library director said with a smile that the institution appreciates enthusiastic readers and understands the excitement generated by the Winnie-the-Pooh anniversary, but reminded visitors, including local bears, that snacks are not part of the lending collection.
