Canada Officially Joins Eurovision; Debut Set for 2027 in Bulgaria
The European Broadcasting Union and Canada's public broadcaster have announced Canada's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2027 in Bulgaria. Canada is the first new member since Australia in 2015.

Canada has officially become a participant in the Eurovision Song Contest, with its debut scheduled for the 2027 edition to be held in Bulgaria. The announcement was made on Wednesday by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Canada's national public broadcaster, CBC/Radio-Canada.
Canada is the first country to join the contest since Australia in 2015. Eurovision director Martin Green noted that while the competition originated in Europe, it continues to expand globally, welcoming participants from around the world.
This year's 70th Eurovision Song Contest took place in Vienna. The final was watched by a total of 131 million viewers. The winner was Bulgarian singer Dara with the song "Bangaranga".
