A significant step toward reconciliation has been taken within the British royal family after years of tension. Multiple foreign media outlets, including People and ABC News, confirm that King Charles III and Queen Camilla privately met with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The meeting took place at the King's private residence, Highgrove in Gloucestershire, away from public and media attention. This is the first known time in more than four years that the King has seen his grandchildren in person. Highgrove was chosen as a safe environment where the family could meet without publicity and the complex security issues that previously hindered visits by the Sussex family to the UK.

Relations between Harry and the royal family have been strained since the couple decided to step back from royal duties, followed by television interviews and Prince Harry's memoirs. However, this meeting is seen as a possible first serious attempt to restore family bonds.

According to People, the meeting occurred shortly after Harry attended a charity event in Britain. Meghan and the children later joined him to travel to Highgrove. ABC News reports that this is the first known family meeting since 2022, and Buckingham Palace has released no photographs or official comments. The Times adds that while the meeting is a significant step in improving father-son relations, reconciliation with Prince William has not yet been achieved—he and his family did not participate in the gathering.
