Kariņš: exit poll shows crushing result for New Unity party
Exit poll data from Latvia's parliamentary election suggest the New Unity party could win just 6.7% of the vote, far below the nearly 19% it received in 2022. Former Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš called the result devastating.

Former Prime Minister and former New Unity member Krišjānis Kariņš told the LETA news agency that exit poll results for the party are devastating.
According to an exit poll conducted among voters leaving polling stations, New Unity could have received support from 6.7% of voters. By comparison, the party won 18.97% of the vote in the 2022 Saeima elections.
Kariņš said current party leader and Prime Minister Evika Siliņa had done everything to produce such a crushing drop in the party's ratings.
Background
If the exit poll figures are confirmed by the official election results, it would mark a sharp decline in support for New Unity compared to the previous parliamentary election. Kariņš himself previously led the party and served as prime minister before later leaving its ranks.
