Riga is preparing changes to traffic organization at the junction of Kārļa Ulmaņa Street and Lielirbes Street, where a separate lane for public transport is planned.

The new lane is intended for the direction of travel from Kārļa Ulmaņa Street onto Lielirbes Street. It would allow buses and other public transport vehicles to bypass potential traffic jams on Kārļa Ulmaņa Street before turning onto Lielirbes Street, making public transport movement more regular and predictable.

Initiator and deadline

The traffic organization changes are being carried out at the proposal of the Riga municipal company "Rīgas satiksme." The work is planned to be completed by August 30 this year.

Work mainly at night

To minimize the impact on traffic flow, most of the work is planned to take place at night. It is noted that the work schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions and other circumstances related to the construction process.
