Kārlis Kazāks and 'Velomūzika' Embark on a Journey Through Vidzeme
Since 2012, musician Kārlis Kazāks and his companions have been cycling across Latvia every summer, performing concerts for local residents – this year their route goes through the Vidzeme region.
Since 2012, musician Kārlis Kazāks and his like-minded friends have been undertaking a special summer expedition – the "Velomūzika" (Bicycle Music) tour across Latvia. Traveling by bicycle, carrying acoustic instruments and songs, they cover hundreds of kilometers over several days, visiting various locations. Each evening, they perform concerts for local residents, sharing music and stories.
This year, the group is journeying through the Vidzeme region, aiming to collect stories of people and places. The trip combines cycle touring with live performances, creating a unique opportunity to meet people outside major cities and bring live music to local communities. The exact route and concert schedule are adapted on the go, depending on weather and the people they encounter.
