Carpathian Economic Forum yields investment proposals worth over €1 billion
More than 50 investment and trade projects worth a combined total of over €1 billion were developed at the Carpathian Economic Forum, involving all eight C8 countries. Ukraine's prime minister described the region as a shared economic space and highlighted Ukraine's recovery as a joint regional project.

Participants at the Carpathian Economic Forum developed more than 50 investment and trade projects with a combined value exceeding €1 billion, Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced on social media platform X.
According to Koretskyi, the projects span the oil and gas, energy, infrastructure and cultural sectors, with all eight C8 countries taking part.
A shared economic space
The prime minister said Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Czechia, Austria and Serbia together make up an interconnected economy, linked by shared production chains, energy systems, transport routes, and cooperation between regions and local communities.
He added that the format should concentrate on three main directions going forward: expanding trade and mutual investment, drawing in major international capital through joint regional investment platforms, and involving the C8 countries in Ukraine's recovery as a shared economic undertaking for the whole region.
Background
At the inaugural Carpathian Economic Forum, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the countries of the Carpathian region hold substantial potential for cooperation in energy, suggesting the region could become an electricity supplier to the EU and help reduce Europe's energy dependence on Russia.
