Children at higher risk of overheating in summer: doctors' advice
Medics warn that children are more prone to overheating during hot summer days and recommend not covering stroller canopies, never leaving children in cars, avoiding direct sunlight, and using sunscreen.

In hot summer weather, children face a significantly higher risk of overheating compared to adults. To protect them, medics offer several practical recommendations.
Do not cover the stroller canopy
Parents often try to shield their baby from the sun by covering the stroller with a cloth. However, doctors caution that this can have the opposite effect: the temperature under the cover rises, making the child even hotter. Instead, a shaded spot with good air circulation is advised.
Never leave children in a car
A car heats up quickly in the sun, and even a short time left inside can be dangerous. Medics strongly advise against leaving children unattended in a vehicle, even if a window is cracked open or it is cloudy outside.
Avoid direct sunlight
Children should stay out of direct sunlight, especially during midday. It is recommended to spend time in the shade and wear appropriate clothing.
Sunscreen is a must
To protect a child's sensitive skin, doctors emphasize the use of sunscreen. It should be applied to all exposed body parts and reapplied according to the instructions.
