Additional Train Trips to Jūrmala Added Due to Heatwave
AS “Pasažieru vilciens” (brand “Vivi”) is adding five extra train trips to Dubulti and back today because of the forecasted hot weather, offering more frequent service and passenger support.

Due to the forecasted heatwave, AS “Pasažieru vilciens”, operating under the brand “Vivi”, will run five additional train trips on the Riga–Dubulti route and back today. Trains will operate every 15 minutes from 10:00 to 20:00.
The company notes that on diesel trains without air conditioning, passengers can seek assistance from the conductor if needed. Drinking water will be provided where possible, and natural ventilation will be enhanced by regularly opening windows.
Hot weather can also heat the railway tracks, potentially leading to temporary speed restrictions in certain sections, which might cause minor delays. All schedule updates are available on the “Vivi” website and mobile app.
Today, many parts of Latvia are expecting extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 31–35°C. In 2025, PV transported 21.333 million passengers, a 9.7% increase from the previous year. The company was established in 2001, separating domestic passenger services from Latvijas dzelzceļš.
