Heatwave continues in Latvia on Monday – strong to very strong heat expected

The night into Monday will be partly cloudy. Some clouds in the west will bring light, short-lived rain, while the rest of the country will stay dry. Winds will be light, and temperatures will drop to +17…+21°C. Central and eastern regions may experience a tropical night, with temperatures staying above +20°C.

In Riga, the night will be partly cloudy with no rain. Light winds and temperatures around +20°C are expected.

During the day, mostly sunny and dry weather is forecast, with occasional clouds. Winds will remain light, and many parts of the country will see strong heat, some areas very strong heat – air temperatures will reach +27…+32°C. Coastal areas will be cooler, at +23…+26°C. The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) notes that the UV index will be high.

Riga will also have a dry and sunny day with light winds, and temperatures will rise to +28…+30°C.
