Two dead, one missing as floods submerge streets across Catalonia
Heavy rain triggered severe flooding across northeastern Catalonia, leaving two people dead and one still missing, with firefighters responding to more than 1,500 emergency calls.

Torrential rain that struck Catalonia in northeastern Spain on Saturday has caused widespread flooding, leaving two people dead and another missing, according to local authorities.
The missing person is reported to have been swept away by a stream in a town north of Barcelona.
Fire crews have responded to more than 1,500 calls as the downpours left streets, roads and fields across parts of the region covered in muddy water and debris.
Submerged towns and rivers
Aerial footage captured swollen rivers near Pineda de Mar and flooded residential streets in Vilanova del Vallès. Firefighters have been pumping water out of affected areas, while emergency crews navigate damaged roads to reach residents in need of help.
A red alert was issued on Saturday for Barcelona, Girona and the surrounding areas as the heavy rain intensified. Residents were urged to stay indoors and avoid flooded zones while emergency services continue their response across the affected region.
