Ras Laffan is Qatar's main industrial center for processing liquefied natural gas (LNG). Reuters specifies that the explosion took place at the Barzan gas processing plant. Sky News notes that the blast was so powerful that it was felt by residents of Doha, located several tens of kilometers from the epicenter.
