Kaucminde Manor: Slow Revival Without State Support
The dilapidated Kaucminde Manor in Mārupe municipality is undergoing gradual restoration – first windows have been installed, columns and portico are being repaired. Owner Aiva Dreimane-Ozolzīle is determined, but the state has yet to create support mechanisms for such heritage sites.

The once-derelict Kaucminde Manor in Pamatinēs (Mārupe region) is slowly regaining its former glory. Recently, the first windows were installed, and work is now underway to restore the manor's columns and portico. The progress is steady despite very limited funding.
The manor's owner and architect, Aiva Dreimane-Ozolzīle, is committed to continuing the work, even though the state has not yet introduced specific support instruments for owners of large cultural heritage objects. She acknowledges that restoration is progressing slowly, but every small step is celebrated.
Culture Minister Nauris Puntulis (National Alliance) admits that new financing mechanisms are needed. He states that the Ministry of Culture plans to seek them in the next European Union funding period. For now, however, no support mechanisms exist, and the manor's revival continues without millions or state involvement.
