Wedding registrar: I have told some couples they should not marry
Estonian wedding registrar Peep-Ain Saar shares his experiences, including times when he directly advised couples against getting married.

Estonian wedding registrar Peep-Ain Saar says his work is more of a calling than a job. In an interview on the show "Vikerhommik," he recalled vividly his first couple — his childhood best friend and his beloved. The ceremony was held outdoors at Lake Leigo, and due to nerves, he mixed up their names several times.
One of the most memorable ceremonies took place in a hot air balloon basket over Lake Võrtsjärv at sunset. Saar noted that the basket was designed for four people, but there were six of them. It was so hot that the burner had to be constantly fired to keep the balloon aloft, making it nearly impossible to hear.
Saar admitted that he has sometimes told couples plainly that they should not marry — some listened, others did not. However, he stressed that the number of those who marry just to prove something is extremely small — only isolated cases.
