Rail crossing in Ķegums to shut for two days in mid-October
From October 12 to 15, repair works will restrict traffic across a railway crossing in Ķegums on Celtnieku Street. Drivers will need detours, while pedestrians and cyclists will not be affected.

The Ogre municipality has announced that the state railway company "Latvijas dzelzceļš" will carry out repair works on railway crossing No. 112 in Ķegums, located on Celtnieku Street along regional road P8. The works will bring several traffic restrictions, and drivers using this route are advised to plan ahead.
Closure schedule
The crossing will be fully closed to vehicle traffic from 18:00 on October 12 until 8:00 on October 14. Afterward, on both October 14 and October 15, between 8:00 and 20:00, the crossing will be partially open, with traffic allowed in a single lane — meaning possible queues and delays.
Pedestrian and cyclist movement will not be restricted during the repairs, though the municipality urges people to cross carefully given the ongoing construction work.
Alternative routes
Drivers needing to cross the railway are advised to use the nearest alternative crossings near the A6 Riga–Daugavpils highway: in Ciemupe, by "Ciemupes skola," or in Lielvārde, on Rembates Street. The municipality encourages drivers to plan their routes in advance to avoid unexpected delays.
