Kaley Cuoco and Tom Pelphrey welcome second daughter, Philomena
US actress Kaley Cuoco, known for the sitcom “The Big Bang Theory”, and her fiancé, actor Tom Pelphrey, have welcomed their second child. The girl has been named Philomena Carmine Bobbie Pelphrey.
Kaley Cuoco (40), a star of the sitcom “The Big Bang Theory”, and her fiancé, actor Tom Pelphrey (44), have welcomed their second child, a daughter. The actress announced the news on Wednesday, 14 October, on Instagram, posting photographs taken at the maternity hospital and at the family home.
The baby was born on Monday, 12 October, and was given the names Philomena Carmine Bobbie Pelphrey. In the family she is affectionately called Filo. “There are no words to describe these feelings again. What a blessing!” Cuoco wrote. She indicated that the road to her second daughter's arrival had not always been easy, and that the waiting period was full of emotional highs and lows. She also wrote: “The family is officially complete! Time to bring Matilda's little sister home!”
Pelphrey shared photographs on his own profile, calling the baby another miracle and the family's newest queen. He thanked Cuoco, stressing that even at moments when she was not feeling her best, she had been a wonderful mother and partner. “You are a champion! The girls and I would be lost without you,” he wrote.
Several fellow actors sent congratulations, including Cuoco's former co-star on the series, Kunal Nayyar, actress Ashley Benson and Taylor Lautner, star of the film “Twilight”.
Background
The couple announced they were expecting a second child in June this year. At the time, Cuoco said the second pregnancy had been more difficult than the first in several respects. In September, Pelphrey received his first Emmy award for his role in the television series “Task”, and in his speech he thanked his pregnant fiancée, who was in the audience.
The actors, who can also be seen in the series “Ozark”, began their relationship in 2022. In October of that year they announced the first pregnancy, and their daughter Matilda was born in March 2023. They announced their engagement in August 2024. They are still not married, and Cuoco has said in earlier interviews that following a traditional order of events is not important to them. What matters more is enjoying being together and family life.
