Katrina Barbala releases second studio album «less than three»
Singer Katrina Barbala has released her second studio album, «less than three», whose creation took longer than usual as she struggled to find the right way to record it. She eventually decided to produce it entirely on her own.

Latvian singer Katrina Barbala (Keitija Bārbale) has released her second studio album, titled «less than three» («mazāk nekā trīs»). Unlike the usual process, where a musician typically knows in advance how the finished record should sound, this album took shape in reverse order.
A long search for the right approach
The songs for the album had been ready for quite some time before its release, but for a long period Barbala was unsure how best to actually record them. She tried out several different collaborative approaches while searching for the method that would suit her material best.
Choosing to work independently
After experimenting with various ways of working, Barbala ultimately decided to make the album on her own, without extensive outside co-authorship or production involvement. This choice allowed her to move closer to her own distinct musical style and achieve a sound that more accurately reflects her personal artistic vision.
The album is described as carrying a bittersweet mood interwoven with everyday, domestic themes.
