Katie Taylor ends career with victory in Dublin in front of 80,000 fans
Irish boxer Katie Taylor's final professional bout in Dublin ended in a points victory over Frenchwoman Floria Pili. The win also added the WBC belt to her collection as a three-time undisputed champion.
On Saturday night in Dublin, Irish boxer Katie Taylor (26-1; 8KO) fought the final match of her professional career. The bout was watched live by 80,000 fans supporting the athlete, who is over 40 years old.
In her closing fight, Taylor defeated French boxer Floria Pili (12-1; 2KO), who is 11 years younger, on points. All three judges scored the contest unanimously in Taylor's favor, with cards reading 100-90, 100-90 and 98-91.
An additional belt
The victory allowed Taylor to add the vacant WBC lightweight title to her collection, joining her existing WBA, WBO and IBF championship belts and confirming her status as a three-time undisputed lightweight champion.
Taylor finishes her career with 26 wins from 27 fights. Her only defeat came in May 2023 against British boxer Chantelle Cameron, though she reclaimed her belts in a rematch six months later.
The event's undercard also featured Irish heavyweight boxer Thomas Carty, whose bout ended early after he fell through the ropes out of the ring.
