Ķekava starts connecting heating to apartment buildings from October 7
Property manager SIA “Ķekavas nami” will gradually connect heating to all its managed apartment buildings in Ķekava municipality starting October 7, over a three-day period. Several institutions, including schools and cultural centers, have already begun their heating season.

In Ķekava municipality, apartment building manager SIA “Ķekavas nami” will begin connecting heating to the buildings it manages starting October 7. The work will proceed gradually, with all buildings expected to be connected within three days.
Following connection, a roughly two-week stabilization period will follow, during which air will be removed from heating systems and any faults repaired. The company notes that some problems may stem from unauthorized repairs residents carried out over the summer, which affected how the heating systems function.
Residents whose building already has heating connected but whose radiators remain cold, or who notice a significant temperature difference between neighboring apartments, are asked to contact SIA “Ķekavas nami” by phone at 29 22 00 11 or by email at info@kekavasnami.lv so faults can be fixed promptly.
Automatic shutdown prevents unnecessary costs
The managed buildings are equipped with automatic heating substations that switch heating off on their own once outdoor temperatures exceed +16 degrees Celsius. As a result, residents will not pay for unnecessary heating during warm spells.
Residents can influence connection timing
Apartment owners have the right to agree on connecting heating earlier or later than scheduled. This year, some buildings already had heating connected in September following residents’ decisions.
Because such decisions usually need to be made quickly in response to weather changes, there is often no time for the formal building-assembly procedure, which requires at least a week’s notice. The company therefore encourages buildings to appoint, ahead of the season, an authorized representative empowered by the residents’ assembly to independently decide the connection date. Buildings that have not yet appointed such a representative are advised to do so by spring, so decisions can also be made about ending the heating season.
