"Ķekava/RB&B" thrash "Lekrings" but draw with "Kurši" in pre-season floorball tests
Ahead of the Elvi floorball top league season, "Ķekava/RB&B" crushed Cēsis' "Lekrings" 10:0 in a friendly, then drew 6:6 with Liepāja's "Kurši" the next day, losing the post-game shootout.

With several teams playing their final warm-up matches before this weekend's start of the Elvi floorball top league season, "Ķekava/RB&B" delivered the most striking result, defeating Cēsis' "Lekrings" 10:0 at home.
Different preparation paths
Before the match, "Ķekava/RB&B" had competed in the "Masters Cup" friendly tournament, finishing second among four teams, behind only "Talsu NSS/Krauzers". Lekrings, meanwhile, had traveled to Finland, where they played against two Innsi-Divari league teams and one F-liiga side.
Following the decisive win, Ķekava head coach Klāvs Ozoliņš said the team had experimented with line changes and tactical adjustments, which appeared to pay off. He nevertheless cautioned against drawing far-reaching conclusions, stressing it was only a friendly match.
Lekrings head coach Gints Bērtulis did not dramatize the heavy defeat, noting that many young players took part, several of them in unfamiliar positions. Players who had traveled to Finland were still feeling fatigued, so the main goal of this match was to test those who had not made the Finland trip.
Draw against "Kurši"
The following day, "Ķekava/RB&B" hosted Liepāja's "Kurši", who returned to the top league after a one-year absence and prepared for the season at the traditional "Czech Open" tournament. Ķekava dominated the first half, scoring three goals while keeping a clean sheet. However, Liepāja fought back in the second half to level the score at 6:6. In the subsequent penalty shootout, the visitors from Liepāja came out on top.
The Elvi floorball top league season is set to begin on September 12.
