KHL goalkeeper accidentally scores own goal in bizarre moment
During a KHL regular season match against Novosibirsk's Sibir, Salavat Yulaev goalkeeper Semyon Vyazovoy accidentally put the puck into his own net, contributing to his team's loss.

A curious incident unfolded during a Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season match between Ufa's Salavat Yulaev and Novosibirsk's Sibir, when the home team's goalkeeper ended up scoring against his own side.
In the match played over the weekend, goalkeeper Semyon Vyazovoy attempted to pass the puck to a teammate in the eighth minute, but the attempt went wrong and the puck ended up in his own net. Visibly frustrated, the goalkeeper dropped to his knees after the mishap.
Match outcome
Despite the unusual episode, play continued, and Salavat Yulaev ultimately lost the match 2:4. The defeat is particularly bitter given the standings — Novosibirsk's Sibir currently sits at the bottom of the Chernyshev Division, while the Ufa club holds second place.
It is worth noting that Salavat Yulaev won the Gagarin Cup — the KHL championship title — back in 2011, making this loss to one of the league's weaker teams all the more painful, regardless of the bizarre own-goal moment.
