The Ukrainian capital Kyiv came under a large-scale attack by Russian forces. At least ten people were killed and nearly 90 others wounded in the assault. The city declared a day of mourning on July 3.

The attack occurred on the night of July 2. Russian troops launched nearly 500 drones and 74 missiles of various types. This is one of the heaviest attacks in recent weeks, hitting both residential areas and infrastructure.

Ukrainian authorities called on international partners to expedite the strengthening of air defense systems. Officials stated that such assaults underscore the urgent need for more effective protection against missiles and drones.
