Kyiv briefly sounds air raid alert over drone threat

Kyiv briefly declared an air raid alert overnight into September 19 due to a drone threat, which was called off a few minutes later. The Air Force reported a jet-powered drone over Kyiv region.

Shortly after 1:10 a.m. on September 19, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) announced this, citing information from the Air Force.

According to the KCMA statement, a yellow danger level was set for the city, and residents were urged to head to the nearest shelters.

Drone near Boyarka

The Air Force also reported a jet-powered drone observed in Kyiv region, in the area of Boyarka, moving in a southern direction.

Alert lifted

At 1:16 a.m., the KCMA announced the all-clear, meaning the alert lasted roughly six minutes.

No reports of casualties, damage, or other consequences related to the incident have been issued so far.
